So are these kind of pills really the trick for boosting your metabolism and losing extra weight? It might seem too good to be true that you can lose weight by taking a pill. However, there are indeed some options that may or may not work.

Chromium Pills

Let us begin with one of the more common of the metabolism pills. One type of pill that promises to boost metabolism of fats and carbs is chromium.

While some studies have shown that these pills will not work, there is some degree of controversy on this issue.

Chromium occurs naturally in food. However, in this particular circumstance, it appears to not be a surefire contender for boosting your metabolism.

Capsaicin Pills

Another option is to take supplements made from capsaicin. If you are unfamiliar with capsaicin, you are probably not unfamiliar with the foods that contain this compound. Capsaicin occurs naturally in foods like chili peppers and green tea.

Studies have shown that capsaicin pills can boost your metabolism by 2%. While that is not a massive boost in metabolism, it could be stated that it is better than nothing! Where these pills are concerned, there are verifiable and positive results.

Green Tea, Coffee And Caffeine

Green tea supplements can also boost metabolism as can caffeine in general. However, if you already drink lots of coffee, it is unlikely that a green tea supplement will actually help you boost your metabolism in any significant fashion.

With that stated, however, it is important to note that black, organic coffee and green tea are high in antioxidants. This means that coffee and tea drinkers could enjoy a metabolism boost while also getting more antioxidants in their diet.

Just because pills are derived from a natural source doesn't mean that they are safe. Any pill can interact with existing medications that you are taking. Of course, you need to consult your doctor before taking any metabolism pills.
